The Very First One

First off, thank you for being here. Second, I am making no promises. I read a lot of blogs (I mean a lot of blogs) and consider it one of my favorite pastimes. So, I decided that perhaps I could get going on this blog thing. I was having a hard time deciding what to write about, though. As I was trying to figure out what I was passionate about, what I might be good at writing about, I realized that there is one thing I am definitely into. Lists. There is this really great one going around called the 101 in 1001 challenge, initially created by Day Zero Project. The rules are this:

The Challenge:
Complete 101 preset tasks in a period of 1001 days.
The Criteria:
Tasks must be specific (ie. no ambiguity in the wording) with a result that is either measurable or clearly defined. Tasks must also be realistic and stretching (ie. represent some amount of work on your part).
Why 1001 Days?
Many people have created lists in the past - frequently simple challenges such as New Year's resolutions or a 'Bucket List'. The key to beating procrastination is to set a deadline that is realistic. 1001 Days (about 2.75 years) is a better period of time than a year, because it allows you several seasons to complete the tasks, which is better for organizing and timing some tasks such as overseas trips, study semesters, or outdoor activities.
So, I am going to write about my 101 in 1001 journey and maybe throw some other things in there as well. I have to admit, though. That I am nervous and scared and almost embarrassed to think that people might want to read what I have to say. However, I am going for it. I probably won’t post very often at first, or maybe I’ll get over zealous and post way too frequently. Anyway, I hope you’ll check back soon and let me know what you think.
